Here is an easy recipe to follow:
To make this delicious dish at home:
You will need 500 grams of chicken
1, Tablespoon coriander powder
A pinch of turmeric powder
½ cup finely chopped onions
1, Teaspoon black peppercorns
1, Teaspoon all-purpose flour
2, Tablespoons ginger garlic paste
5, Tablespoons sesame oil’ or any other cooking oil for deep-frying the chicken.
How to prepare Pallipalayam Chicken:
Gather the ingredients: chicken, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garlic paste, vinegar, oil and salt:
Start by marinating the chicken with vinegar, and salt garlic paste and keep it aside for at least 20-30 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and some oil in a bowl to make a smooth paste. Once the chicken is marinated, add this paste to the chicken pieces & let them sit for about half an hour. Heat some oil in a pan for deep frying over medium heat & then fry the marinated chicken pieces until golden brown from both sides. Serve hot with some parathas or chappatis!
You can try another method to fry chicken pieces.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the chicken pieces:
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add the chicken pieces. Let it cook in the skillet until it turns golden brown on both sides, flipping regularly so that it cooks evenly. When it’s ready, take out the fried chicken pieces and place them onto a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil. Serve hot with some parathas or chappatis and enjoy!
Add all the powdered spices along with garlic paste & salt to the chicken & mix well:
Once your chicken pieces have been fried, add in the powdered spices- chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and turmeric powder along with the garlic paste & salt. Mix everything properly so that all the chicken pieces are evenly coated with the spices. Cook this on medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes while stirring it occasionally until you get a thick layered coating over the chicken pieces. And there you have it- your very own Pallipalayam Chicken dish!
