How long to Boil Tamarind water?

1  To make homemade Tamarind water, begin by soaking Tamarind pods in hot water for about 30 minutes.

2  Then, use your hands to break apart the pods and remove the seeds and fibres. 

3  Place the tamarind pulp in a pot with enough water to cover it and bring it to a boil.

4  Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5   Once the water has turned a dark brown colour & the tamarind pulp has dissolved, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. 

6  The resulting liquid is your homemade tamarind water, which can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.

How to Make Tamarind Water

1    If you want to make your own tamarind extract or water at home, start by taking a lemon-sized ball of tamarind & placing it in a bowl.

2   Start by boiling a cup of water. Once the water is boiling, pour it over the tamarind & let it soak for 10 minutes.

3   This allows the tamarind to soften, making it easier to extract the pulp. With the softened tamarind, you can then create a variety of delicious dishes and drinks, such as tamarind chutney or tamarind juice.

4   To make homemade tamarind paste, start by soaking the tamarind pods in warm water for about 10 minutes. Once they have softened, use your fingers to mash the tamarind until it becomes a smooth paste. This paste can be used in a variety of recipes, from marinades to sauces to desserts.

5  After that, strain the tamarind water into a separate bowl and use a spoon to extract as much juice as possible from the pulp. 

6   For a second extraction, add another 1/2 cup of water and mash the pulp again to make even more tamarind water. 

7   Finally, strain the second extract over the first & your tamarind water is ready to use in curries or any dish that needs a sour kick.
